Many functions within a variety of businesses face the challenge of responding to customer demand which varies widely from month to month, week to week, day to day, or even hour to hour.

By monitoring historical demand and its variability, organizations can calculate and use Takt Time to determine appropriate staffing levels given different levels of demand. Flexible staffing arrangements can then be designed to allow the business to optimize the number of employees to a given level of demand.
