This case study documents a team searching to identify opportunities to reduce lead time for different product lines in order to become more responsive to changing market needs and to become the preferred provider in the market. Through a Rapid Improvement Event (RIE) the team was challenged to distinguish between value-added and non-value added activities, and how to use this difference as a yardstick for change.
