Tank Storage Facilities

Juran Institute has conducted a number of internal programs to benchmark the performance of oil, gas and petrochemical tank storage facilities. These programs have included participants from the North Sea and the Gulf of Mexico and focused on operational expenditure relating to business overheads, maintenance, operations, safety, and environment. All aspects of operations were examined including storage, blending, transfers, metering and export. Some of the issues addressed in the metrics model included unit costs, utilisation, down time, reliability and planned (preventive) versus unplanned maintenance.
