Platforms

The Juran Institute has conducted internal programs to benchmark the performance of onshore and offshore platforms for a number of clients in 1995, 1997 and 2003. The programs included participants primarily from the North Sea and the Gulf of Mexico and focused on operational expenditure relating to business overheads, maintenance, operations, safety, and environment for the entire operation from Christmas tree, through separation and metering, to export. Some of the issues addressed in the metrics model included unit costs, utilisation, down time, turnarounds, reliability and planned (preventive) versus unplanned maintenance.
